I'm ready, already!

I think it's a bit ridiculous that it's necessary today for engagements to be so long. I think I read somewhere that engagements are typically 6-12 months. That's a long time! Who thought of that? I mean really, you get engaged because you know you want to spend your life with someone. And then there's this long (6-12 month) waiting period before you can start doing that. I guess it has to do with the amount of time that is necessary to have in order to book sites in advance. Ridiculous.
I suppose I'm just trying to think of a way to feel excused for this incredible anxiety I'm feeling. And I've still got almost 9 months to go! I feel like every thing I'm doing right now is so useless. It's all just down time. I'm just finding ways to pass the time. Lame! I wanna get married!
It's a good thing that I feel this way, right?
